Welcome to ILLINOIS WAR of 1812 Society
Membership in our society is open to any male of any age who is of good moral character and reputation, and who can provide lineal descent to a patriot who served during the War of 1812, in a military service of the United States. The General Society of the War of 1812 offers more information about qualifications for becoming a member.
Our Objectives
Cooperate with other patriotic organizations to achieve mutual goals; encourage patriotism and patriotic education; promote historic preservation; make every effort to have a gravestone marker placed on the grave of any War of 1812 soldier buried in Illinois; recognize outstanding cadets through the ROTC programs at Illinois educational institutions; sponsor an essay contest for students aged 14-18; and support Illinois War of 1812 Bicentennial Commission projects.

EVENTS
Second Annual Military
Showcase Saturday & Sunday, August 6 & 7, 2022 from 10am-5pm, and
set up can be done the prior day, Friday. We will have police officers on
site for overnight security. We plan to have a “media event” on Friday
evening.
The location will be Berkeley Park,
diagonally across the street from the Berkeley Village complex located at 5819
Electric Ave, Berkeley, IL 60163.
